Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (born 1950) is a Greek-American author, syndicated columnist, and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post, the founder and CEO of Thrive Global, and the author of fifteen books. She has been named to Time Magazine's list of the world s 100 most influential people and the Forbes Most Powerful Women list. Originally from Greece, she moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from University of Cambridge where she earned a B.A. in economics. At 21, she became president of the university s debating society, The Cambridge Union. Huffington serves on numerous boards, including Uber, Onex, and Global Citizen. Roloff Beny, (1924 1984) was a Canadian photographer who spent the better part of his life in Rome and on his photographic travels throughout the world. Born Wilfred Roy Beny in Medicine Hat, Alberta, he later took as his first name Roloff , his mother's maiden name. His books won awards throughout a long career, beginning with The Thrones of Earth and Heaven in 1958. To Every Thing There is a Season: Roloff Beny in Canada is a study of his native land. In 1972, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. From the blurb Like an underground river flowing through Western culture, the Greek gods have sent up springs and fountains inspiring and fertilizing the western imagination for more than twenty centuries. Adrianna Stassinopoulos explores the gods not as poetic fancies but as vital forces alive in us today. The gods and goddesses are visually evoked in Roloff Beny s magnificent photographs. Many of them were taken specifically for this book, but included also are unpublished images from visits to Greece over a period of twenty years. This book contains 126 photographs, including 40 plates in full color. This book, 216 pages measuring 280mm X 225mm, is in fine condition in a fine dust jacket, that is now enclosed in a protective mylar wrap. This large and heavy book will require additional postage.
