With such divergent views, how are Christians supposed to know the truth about demonic forces at work in this world?Satanic attacks are very real, and this book will examine what every believer needs to know about Satan, demons, and spiritual warfare. Available in both a cloth edition and on an audio CD, this provocative book will help Christians understand what the Bible says about these threats and will show them how they can safeguard themselves and their families through prayer. The Invisible War, by popular author Chip Ingram, offers a balanced look at what is going on in the spiritual realm and what believers can do to defend themselves.

Spiritual warfare 101The Bible is clear: if you are a Christian, you are at war. But our approach to spiritual warfare usually falls into one of two extremes-either we place an undue emphasis on Satan and his powers or we completely ignore the existence of a personal enemy. The Invisible War offers believers a balanced look at what the Bible says on the subject.Based on Paul's teaching in Ephesians 6, Ingram shows every believer what we need to know about Satan, demons, and spiritual warfare. Find out how to- prepare yourself for spiritual battle- cultivate invincible faith- find freedom from demonic influence"There's no room for platitudes or vague, spiritual answers to pressing, difficult questions," says Chip Ingram. The Invisible War will help you understand your position in Christ, put on the full armor of God, and stand firm against the enemy.FRONT FLAPSpiritual warfare explained for every ChristianWhen Chip Ingram entered the ministry, he had no idea how unprepared he was for the battle ahead. At one time during his ministry, he lived in an environment where the occult, New Age beliefs, and cults were so common that they were prominently advertised on coffee shop bulletin boards. It was then that he realized the overwhelming influence of demonic forces. They affect everyone, everywhere. Even us.But we can protect ourselves and our families. Drawing from the Bible's teaching on spiritual warfare and his own personal experience, Chip Ingram gives us a balanced, biblical perspective on who the enemy is and how we can resist him.BACK FLAPChip Ingram is CEO of Walk Thru the Bible and teaching pastor of Living on the Edge, Walk Thru the Bible's international broadcast ministry. Aus dem Klappentext

Excerpt in catalog:This book is my best attempt to bridge the gap in the teaching available on spiritual warfare. Although it is an exposition of Ephesians 6, the reader will find the application of this passage far from theoretical. When one is ministering in a culture where witches are actively praying against you and a horse's head is placed on a stake across from your church to cast a spell on it, there's no room for platitudes or vague spiritual answers to pressing difficult questions. Much of satanic opposition, however, is extraordinarily subtle and has no dramatic manifestations. For this reason, much of the book will deal with the everyday schemes of the evil one in a forthright, biblical, and relevant manner.
