In The Age of Reformation, first published in 1955, E. Harris Harbison shows why sixteenth-century Europe was ripe for a catharsis. E. Harris Harbison (1907–1964) was Henry Charles Lea Professor of History, Princeton University. His other books include The Christian Scholar in the Age of Reformation and Christianity and History. Edward Whiting Fox (1911–1996) was Professor of History at Cornell University. He is the author of several books, including History in Geographic Perspective: The Other France and The Emergence of the Modern European World.
