Inhaltsangabe

Examines the theological roots to ultra-orthodox opponents of the Hasidim, the mystical tradition based on the Kaballah and revered and charismatic teachers. Explains why the Mithnagdim argue that the emphasis on religious ecstasy risks eclipsing the Talmud and destroying the ancient tradition of its careful study.
