After escaping the destructive path of Well, the malicious landowner, Walt returns home to reclaim what had been taken from his family. Once there he plots revenge for the death of his father, who was murdered at the hand of Wells. However, Wells is one step ahead of him and within days of returning, Walt narrowly escapes being gunned down while sleeping. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
A retired teacher, Howard Pelham loves to travel and study the history of the places he visits. Presently, he lives in Denver, Colorado and writes full time.
Howard has an interest in nature, and this is reflected in his novels with the detailed descriptions of plant and animal life. He also likes to visit the places in which he sets his novels. Such trips allow him to gather the names of trees and plants that grow in the area.
When possible, he talks to old timers, some of whom have memories of the places and what happened there told to them by their parents. Such interviews help to give a feeling of authenticity to setting, character, and action.
Reared on a farm in southern Alabama, he has also always had a special love of horses despite an experience where his leg was broken after a rambunctious bronco threw him from his mount.
