The book illustrates the relationshiop of each body system to all other body systems and there are chapters dedicated to assessment of special situations, such as spiritual assessment, nutritional assessment and the developmental levels of newborns, children, pregnant women and older adults. The text assists in the differentiation between normal and abnormal, so that students know when to refer clients to a physician or other member of the healthcare team.
