Matthew 5-7, popularly known as the Sermon on the Mount, has been described as "the essence of Christianity" and inspired many commentaries. Charles Quarles is vice president for Integration of Faith and Learning, professor of New Testament and Greek, and chair of the division of Christian Studies at Louisiana College. He holds degrees from University of Mississippi (B.A.) and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., Ph.D.).
