Requiring no investment of expensive machinery, veneering offers woodworkers tremendous opportunities for creativity. In this fully illustrated guide, you can use woods that may be rare, expensive, or structurally weak in their solid form. Learn the terminology of veneering, and then find out what materials, tools, and equipment you need to get started. Use cross-banding, book-matching and quartering, inlaying, parquetry and oyster work, and marquetry to stunning effect. Finishing and polishing will ensure the lasting beauty of your veneers, and a chapter on restoration and working with sawn veneers will enable you to repair damaged pieces.
