Other subjects considered include the theories of writing and desire, feminist writing and gay writing, and the effects of the arms race on contemporary writers.

Bob Perelman is Poet in Residence at Urban School (San Francisco) and Lecturer at the University of San Francisco. Since earning his M.F.A. degree in Poetry from the University of Iowa he has pub­lished several books of poetry and served as editor of Hills magazine.
