In 1969, the BBC aired the first episode of a new comedy series titled Monty Python's Flying Circus, and the rest, as they say, is history. An instant success, the show ran until 1974, producing a total of 45 episodes. Darl Larsen is program director and professor of film and animation studies at Brigham Young University, Media Arts Department, and affiliated with the Center for Animation at BYU. He is the author of Moving Pictures: A History of American Animation from Gertie to Pixar and Beyond, which received praise in Booklist and Publishers Weekly, and several Monty Python encyclopedias. He resides in Orem, UT.
