Fawzia Zouari was born in Tunisia and emigrated to Paris, where she works as a journalist, social critic, and novelist. In 2016 she received the prestigious Prix des 5 continents de la francophonie for her novel The Body of My Mother. Skyler Artes works as a translator and has lectured at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the University of Denver. She is the translator of Leila Sebbar's Arabic as a Secret Song (Virginia).
