This study examines theatre director Andrei Serban in the United States from his early work at the Cafe La MaMa in the 1970s to his last production at the American Repertory Theatre in 1989 - a dark treatment of Twelfth Night. The Author: Ed Menta holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University and currently serves as an associate professor of Theatre at Kalamazoo College in Michigan. His reviews and articles have been widely published in many journals, and he also directs professionally. Dr. Menta lives in Michigan with his wife and two children.
