In this collection from the working group meeting of November 2001, contributors formulate problems, share ideas and approaches, and plan an agenda for future interactions. Their fields included theoretical and applied computer science, statistics, discrete and non-discrete mathematics, chemistry and information science, and the topics centered on the use of computers to generate scientific conjectures, mainly in graph theory and chemistry. Individual contributions covered such topics as future design of general purpose graph software, optimization algorithms through automated learning, numbers of faces and boundary encoding of patches, results of the expert system "Graph," several treatments of "Graffiti," including learning graph theory with it, applications to studies of fullerene, conjecture-making, searching variable neighborhoods for extremal graphs, mathematics for the nanocell approach to molecular electronics, automated conjecture-making, constrained generation of molecular graphs, a dynamic programming approach for timing and designing clique algorithms, and interactive conjecturing with VEGA.
