A founder of the NAACP and a leading voice of the Harlem Renaissance, Du Bois wrote extensively on race, politics, history, and culture.In addition to his nonfiction classics such as The Souls of Black Folk, Du Bois authored several novels, including Dark Princess, which allowed him to explore political ideas through fiction.
