A full-length study of the novel draws out the most important themes and ideas. Also featured are summaries of how the novel was received upon publication and how it has performed since, including film or TV adaptations and literary prizes. Suggestions are made for further reading, including web sites and discussion forums, and there is a list of questions for discussion by reading groups.
