Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Els van der Plas is an art historian and curator, and founder of The Gate Foundation, an inter-cultural art exchange organization, and has organized numerous international art exhibitions and workshops.

Malu Halasa is features editor of Tank, a visually led bimonthly, and of Mined, a biannual of new ideas. She is the author of several biographies, including Twist and Crawl: The Beat and Elijah Muhammad.

Marlous Willemsen is policy officer for the Prince Claus Fund. She has studied Arabic and Islamic art.


Marlous Willemsen (Netherlands) is the policy officer for the Prince Claus Fund. She has studied Arabic and Islamic Art. Before joining the Fund she managed the Centre of Islamic Art in Rotterdam. Malu Halasa has been writing about the Near and Middle East for the Guardian and other publications since the 1990s. She helped to found Tank magazine and was it's features editor for four years.
