Systems represented in a piecewise linear (PL) form are studied in an attempt to develop systematic stabilization techniques The author argues that combining these systems with PL Lyapunov functions can provide a framework for systematic design that deals usefully with uncertainties and nonlinearities in the presence of state and control constraints.
