This is a fantastic book, and I looked through many before deciding that, even with its inflated (academic press gouging) $35.00 price tag, I needed to own this book for its insight and scope. Deacon draws out Foucault as a lens to expose and critique the ways of knowing and outcomes implicit in Western political thought. He contrasts Foucault with other seminal thinkers; Hobbes, Marx, Baudrillard. First rate thinking and pleasurable to read.
