Carol Lea Benjamin, a professional dog trainer, is the author of numerous books and magazine articles on dogs and other subjects for both adults and children. Highly acclaimed for her work, in 1985 she received both the Dog Writers' Association of America award as Writer of the Year and the Fido Award as Dogdom's Writer of the Year.
