Progressively takes the student through the entire subject of the cryptanalysis of the Hagelin Cryptograph, also known as M-209 in the U.S. Army during World War II. The text begins with the analysis of a one-wheel machine, then a two-wheel machine, until finally the analysis of the actual six-wheel machine is reached. Problems to be solved are included. The Hagelin Cryptograph was invented in the 1930's by Boris Hagelin. It was favorably recieved by various government.
