An interesting account of the history of the sexual revolution, showing that its roots lay in European radicalism, and that its failure was due to its distortion and exploitation by a market-oriented society. However, sound though Mr. Frankl's knowledge of social history and psychology may be, his grip on literature is not so secure. On pg. 106, for example, we find two stanzas from Swinburne's poem 'Dolores' (published in Poems & Ballads, 1st Series, London: Moxon, 1866) confounded with the same author's dramatic tragedy Chastelard (London: Moxon, 1865).
