Originally published in 1976 as a limited edition, fine press book by book artisan Harry Duncan for Abattoir Editions, A Day in the World remained virtually invisible. Duncan printed fewer than 190 copies (many of these erroneously bound and subsequently destroyed); the remaining copies were largely bought up by collectors, and few readers were able to add this Kuzma collection to their library of contemporary American poetry. This reprint makes A Day in the World available to a large and broader readership for the first time in more than 30 years. WHAT CRITICS HAVE SAID ABOUT KUZMA'S POETRY: "Kuzma writes poems which are warm, tender, full of good humor, often sensitive, highly crafted with a sheen akin to that of minimal art." John R. Carpenter, Poetry "Kuzma wants to engage us. He wants to witness and to bear witness to. He wants to recreate, rediscover, and rewrite . . . . Kuzma's poetry is fresh, sexual, and confident." Arthur Oberg, Shenandoah
