He explains the basic mechanisms of the Toyota production system, examines production as a functional network of processes and operations, and then discusses the organization-wide mechanism necessary to make JIT possible in any manufacturing plant. He demonstrates new ways to think about profit, inventory, waste, and productivity.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Shigeo Shingo(1909 - 1990) was a Japanese industrial engineer specialized in quality control. He is known for various quality techniques concepts such as Poka-Yoke , Mistake Proofing, SMED , Just in Time Production , and Jidoka.
