Trazando un per�odo en su vida desde el Festival de Woodstock de 1969 hasta los siguientes a�os viviendo en la tierra, los escritos directos y po�ticos de esta singular artista de danza dan vida a una turbulenta era de transici�n. Al llegar a Nueva York a principios de los a�os 60 desde California, trajo consigo una serie de piezas que demostraron ser una gran influencia en el desarrollo de la danza "posmoderna" en los pr�ximos a�os. Sus "construcciones de danza" se basaban en una preocupaci�n por los cuerpos en acci�n, el movimiento no se estiliza ni se presenta por su l�nea visual, sino como un hecho f�sico. Combinando dibujos, "informes de baile" (descripciones cortas de eventos cuyo movimiento caus� una profunda impresi�n en la memoria del autor) y materiales documentales como partituras, descripciones, cartas a colegas y registros fotogr�ficos de actuaciones, el ojo de Forti hacia la creaci�n de modismos para explorar formas y comportamientos naturales es evidente en todo momento. Simone Forti pas� de la pintura en 1955 a estudiar danza con Anna Halprin y pas� a estudiar composici�n con Robert Dunn en el Merce Cunningham Studio lo que llev� a su asociaci�n con Judson Dance Theater en los a�os 60. Su trabajo abarca desde las primeras construcciones de danza minimalistas, pasando por estudios de movimientos animales, animaciones de noticias, retratos de tierras y, actualmente, Logomotion, una forma de improvisaci�n basada en la resonancia entre el movimiento y la palabra hablada.
