Hardcover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. 363pp, decorative boards, in slip case which is split and rubbed but still holding together, has previous owners details inscribed upon it in felt tip plus title of book., number 139 of this 1500 copy limited edition. Fabulous photographs. Boards are in excellent condition with virtually no wear, no bumping or fading. The problems are internal and stem from the previous owners apparent compulsion to write all over his books. There are inscriptions in what looks like felt tip to front and rear paste downs and title page and rear end paper plus a small area of highlighting and a note on the last page of the index. Two inscriptions to text in what looks like pencil but which would leave indentations if removed, plus a pencil inscription against one internal illustration. Well there you have it. None of this actually affects the text but it all looks quite unsightly. Otherwise internally in fine condition no turned over page corners. The book is one of the superb Palawan Press publications which is limited edition [ number 499 of 1500 clothbound copies ] published without a dust jacket in a card slip case. The foreword to the book was written by Bill Boddy who, at the risk of being lynched, described Guy Griffiths as the greatest motor racing photographer. The book is a long overdue collection of Guy Griffith's photography, concentrating on that most interesting period from 1946 to 1953, with text by Anthony Pritchard.
