Worsley studied phys-iotherapy while serving as an army education officer in charge of Colleges of the North West Command. After the war he practiced physiotherapy and studied osteopathy, naturopathy and Chinese acupuncture. At that time it was not pos-sible to receive professional qualifications in Chinese acupuncture in the West. In 1960 he journeyed to Taiwan, Singapore and Korea and received his Doctorate of Acupuncture. His Classical Five-Element Acupuncturarm teachers Ono and Hsui bestowed upon him the rare and honoured classical designation of "Master". On returning to England he founded the College of Traditional Acupuncture, UK in the 1950s. The Traditional Acupuncture Institute in 1974 and the Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture, USA in 1988. There are other associated Colleges in the United States, France and Norway. Since the' early 1980s he and his wife Judy Becker Worsley have traveled extensively across America conducting training seminars for students and teachers, and consultations for patients. Professor Worsley has acted as a consultant in various teaching hospitals in America and has lectured at many universities throughout the United States. He has also lectured extensively in France, Spain, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, India, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada and Switzerland. He has written articles in medical journals in various countries of the world and has also appeared many times on television programmes in different countries explaining traditional classical acupuncture. A practitioner with over 55 years' experience, Professor Worsley is the author of several books: Is Acupuncture For You? ?
