This is a story of the Wild West, as told by renowned artist, Virginia McCabe.She sets out for Colorado in 1859, as Gold fever grips the territory.Planning to emulate the great painter of the Plains Indians, George Catlin, her plans soon go awry when her arrival at remote Fort McHenry coincides with the murder of a fur trapper. Virginia must set off in pursuit of a band of renegade Cheyenne, with bounty hunters, a rough western guide, a dubious preacher and an enigmatic native, Jack Crow, her only companions. She paints a powerful picture of the American wilderness and its inhabitants, with her brushes and her words, as she herself becomes embroiled in a story of revenge and greed, love and deceit, destined to be woven into the legendary fabric of the Wild West.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Shane Harrison was born in Dublin. He graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1982, and subsequently worked in television and advertising. He has published two collections of short stories: Blues Before Dawn (Poolbeg) and The Benefits of Tobacco (Forty Foot Press). Over the years he has written reviews and articles on music, art and travel for a variety of newspapers and periodicals. He has a BA degree in English Literature from Dublin City University and currently works as a librarian in County Wicklow.
