From Chapter 1: Does God really love you? Yes, God loves you. How can you know that's true? It helps to know who God is, I mean who He really is.
Let's find out just who God is. We'll take a little trip. Now close your eyes....
We'll visit the Garden of God when the earth was young and new. Let's walk along the Garden paths. God is here....He's everywhere!
Open your eyes. Look around! Everything is perfect. This place is alive and bright. Look, over there are Adam and Eve!
Do you know who they are? They are your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great ... grandparents!
Adam was the very first man and Eve the first woman. They were created by God and are very special to Him.
God made some special clothes for them. He wrapped them in shining light. It shows how close they are to God because God is very bright.
Can you see that Adam and Eve are happy in their home of light? Their days are filled with wonder, learning and delight.
For there isn't any pain and their isn't any crying. There isn't any fighting and there isn't any dying.
And that is very good, now isn't it?
Come on, let's go ... Let's follow Adam and Eve along the garden paths. Let's look and see what they see. They are stopping to smell the flowers there are so many different colors.
Here come some animal friends furry babies with their mothers. Adam and Eve know all their names because Adam named each one from big to small, from short to tall.
He gave them names like elephant, buffalo, bird and bee, antelope, camel horse and fish, dog, cat, and rhinoceros.
Adam and Eve are stooping down. They're touching the grapes they eat. Look, look over there! Do you see that light approaching? Is that an angel coming?
It is! He has come to visit them. Let's sit down and listen. It seems he has a story. Adam and Eve are listening.
"I'm here to tell you something," the angel says to them. "It's important to us all. I want to warn you of a plan a plan that Satan has. He doesn't want you to love our God. He started his plan in Heaven. One day he came up to me and said that God had lied. He said that God was doing things that were not very nice. I didn't know what a lie was until one made me kneel. I made my heart cry out in pain. Lies change the way you feel. A lie that changes love into something strange is very, very dangerous and always brings great pain. Satan wants for both of you to think that God is bad. He hopes to change the way you feel so you'll think God is mad. Then you won't be able to love you God of love."
"That's impossible!" Eve declares. "We'll always love our God."
The angel looks at them and smiles. "I know it's hard to believe," he says, "but Satan is very sneaky. He can get you so confused. Please be careful Adam, and Eve be careful too. All of heaven loves you both. It would break our hearts to lose you."
The angel turns and leaves. He seems a little sad. Adam and Eve just watch him go. They wonder what's so bad.
Later on, in the evening time, Jesus comes to visit. Adam and Eve are happy to see their dearest friend. They all sit down together while Jesus listens to their day.
They tell of each discovery and ask about the angel's story. The one who seemed so sad.
"You two must know," Jesus says, "My Father is you Dad. He loves you very, very much. He wants the best for you."
"Please don't go beside the tree. You know, the tree of choice. The one where Satan lurks about. He waits to frighten you.
I must tell you, children, and this is not a lie. If you eat the fruit of choice then you will surely die."
"Die?" Adam asks. "What is die?"
"It is being far away from Me. As far as anyone can be. So far away that you will be nothing any more." Jesus says.
"Why would you Satan try to change the way that we love God?" Eve wants to know the truth.
"Well, my dear, Satan doesn't like My Father and Myself."
"How strange," says Adam. "Didn't Satan live with you? Didn't you love him and make him free? Wasn't he really special, too?"
"Yes, Adam." Jesus says.
"Well," Adam continues, "it seems so very strange that he turned his back on everything that God had done for him. Did you try to stop him from leaving Heaven, I mean?"
"Yes, Adam, we tried. We loved him. We did every thing we could. We wanted him to change his mind to see our great love for him. And yes, he saw our great love, but his heart had turned away. He didn't want to trust us. He didn't want our love. There was nothing more that any of us could do." Jesus' eyes are filled with tears. He stands and says goodbye, and promises to come again tomorrow at this same time.
This is such a wonderful place. I'd like to come back, too, wouldn't you? Let's go home and think about the thinks we've seen and heard. I hope that nothing happens to Adam and Eve's new home.
Everyone is so happy here. It is so perfect and so bright. God takes care of everything and brings them all delight.
So ... did you see a little bit about who our loving God is? Did you see that Jesus listened and cared about everything?
He and God the Father, they both are just the same. They love us all so very much. Even more than I can say.
