The author, June Kirkpatrick - Nana June as she is known to her grandchildren - has always had a fondness for animals. She has known and cared for all of the farm animals in this book. Her good friend, Lori Peterson, is the up and coming artist who illustrated Barn Kitty. Lori also is an ardent horsewoman and animal caregiver. They are both long time residents of Santa Fe, NM. INSIDE FLAP: Barn Kitty is a true story about a lost kitten who found a home among caring people and friendly farm animals. She lived a long and happy life. When she died, she was missed by all. Presented in a simple and tender way, Barn Kitty is a story designed to help children cope with the death of a beloved pet.
