Susan Hodges has worked in Information Technology for over 25 years and has an extensive background in both technology and training. During her technical career she worked as a programmer, systems analyst, systems designer and programming manager and also conducted and managed technical training sessions for computer professionals. While working in the technical field, she was constantly exposed to the continuing problems non-technical people have communicating with computer professionals, and her background gave her both the technical and communications skills necessary to address these difficulties.

In 1989, Susan established SemCo Enterprises, Inc., which specializes in providing training and reference materials for non-technical people who work with computer professionals and/or products. SemCo provides classroom and web training in Computers: Systems, Terms and Acronyms, both public and on-site; Web-based training in specific technologies and Web-based training in Technical Recruiting; TechRef, the only online technical knowledgebase for non-technical people; and TechConnections, a free, monthly email newsletter with informative technical articles and vocabulary lists on hot topics written for easy understanding by non-technical people.

Susan has remained a generalist throughout her career, so she is uniquely qualified to create seminars and reference materials that cover the entire IT spectrum. Both training and reference materials are constantly updated to reflect current technology
