Kathleen Riley Mitchell grew up in Fairfield and in Easton, Connecticut, and became a Certified Dental Assistant and then a Registered Dental Hygienist. Kathleen married her husband Tom, a Block Islander, and together they live on Block Island, Rhode Island with their five children. This is Kathleen's first literary endeavor. Inspired by her family and her fond childhood memories, Kathleen writes of Block Island and it's own timeless "rituals" that children come to love whether they live on Block Island, come for their first visit or reqularly frequent the island.
