The author flew his antique taildragger airplane around the United States in a search for positive role models for youth to emulate. It has an adventure twist, as he relates his flying misadventures along with the serious theme of interviewing interesting people, including the goalie of our Olympic team, a Sing Sing prison guard, a Secretary of Defense committeewoman, a spokesman for NASA, a Nevada casino owner as well as many working class common folks. He asked their attitude about their country and their career, inadvertantly stumbling upon a current hot topic, the American work ethic. STRIVING is a book that every parent will want to have on their coffee table as a conviction of their belief in the promise of America.

Sandy Sinclair was born in Olympia Washington during the great depression, on Friday the 13th. Things got better from that time on. After service in the Navy and college, he and his bride taught in the one room schools of the old Territorial Alaska, where he doubled as bush pilot. Later he became a high school football coach and counselor. There he saw the need to create a more positive outlook of our world to young people, hence this book, STRIVING.
