Hardcover, 9-1/4 inches tall, xii + 320 pp. including notes and index, illustrated primarily with b/w photos but with a few maps, too. Dust jacket included. This copy in very good overall condition. Clean, crisp text. Paper feels very crisp (like new). No marks in the text. Firm binding. Dust jacket present but it has a few tears (1-1/2 inch tear on lower edge of front panel near spine; sl. nicked on bottom edge of backstrip; and circular portion on back panel where a sticker has been removed). Thus the jacket is in only fair condition, but the book itself looks and feels about like new. And it is signed on the front free endpaper, "With best wishes/Edward J Cashin/March 2, 2004." A sticker on the front panel of the dust jacket states that this title was the recipient of the 2003 Lilla M. Hawes award for the Georgia Historical Society.
