Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr. Zomaya S. Solomon was born of Assyrian parents and raised in the Middle East. In 1953, he arrived in the United States of America in pursuit of his advanced studies. He received a BA and MA in the School of Religion from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC.

At the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, he completed credit work for his Ph.D. in the interdepartmental fields of Semitic Languages, Ancient History and Archeology of the Near East. From the same University, Dr.Solomon also received another MA in Arabic and Islamic Studies. On May 3, 1997, Bob Jones University conferred on him the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters, making him the first Assyrian to ever receive such an honorary degree.

At the invitation of the late Rev. Peter Bisset, the Pastor of Arlington Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD, Dr. Solomon, in 1969 founded Arlington Bible Institute. He founded Arlington Bible College in 1972; in 1984, he began Arlington Bible Seminary and was their president for twenty years. The Institute and College are still continuing.

In 1983 and 1994, Dr. Solomon was invited to Israel by the World Congress of Jewish Studies to deliver lectures on Assyrian Aramaic, the proceedings of which were published in that Organization's proceedings.

From 1958 through 1992, Dr. Solomon worked for the US Department of Defense, as a senior linguist, researcher and publisher. He has developed and published more than two dozen text books and dictionaries on all levels and in different languages.
