Around 850 A.D., deep in the hot, steamy jungle, a group of scientist gathered, charged with the task of developing a means to travel through time. The kings of the Maya Empire, led by Kukulkan and the sorcerer Lakin, were being pursued by their High-King, Hunac-Cel. The kings had to reach the research center and the scientists had to be successful or all would die.
Book I: Merlin The Sorcerer
About 1200 years later, archeologist Dr. Merlin Lakin and his team set out into the jungles of Guatemala on an assignment to find out what happened to the leaders of the Maya Empire, but what they discover is the secret of time travel instead! Merlin and his team combine the Mayan information with modern-day technology, resulting in an improved means of time travel. Because of this discovery, the team is commissioned by King Arthur II of Great Britain to find a link between today’s monarchy and the legendary Arthur, High-King of Briton.
As a result of this quest, Merlin finds adventure and friendship as he advises the Kings of the Island of the Mighty, battles their enemies and sets in motion the events that lead to the great nation of today.

The windows revealed the cold, gray sky outside. Dr. Merlin Lakin twitched his nose like a rabbit as he looked up from his worktable. He hated the city with its noise and pollution; it always wreaked havoc on his sinuses. To give his office at the Carnegie Institute more of an open feel, hed insisted upon a double-pane glass wall being installed, but since he still needed his privacy at times, hed had white vertical blinds put in. The open blinds revealed a large room divided into cubicles, busy with activity.
The door to his office opened and in walked a fifty-three-year-old gray-haired woman. Whats up? she asked.
Merlin glanced over his shoulder and saw Dr. Annette Stewart standing in the doorway.
Is Adrian coming? he asked.
Annie looked at Merlin, with his suit coat off, sleeves rolled up, tie loosened, and his shirt halfway unbuttoned. Merlin, cant you ever keep yourself together?
Its this city. Ive gotta get out of here. So wheres Adrian? Merlin, the team leader at the young age of thirty-four, turned his attention to some photographs on his worktable.
Hes coming. Give him a minute. What are those photos of?
Ill tell you when Adrian gets here. I dont want to go over it but once.
Theres no need to be so snippy. Anyway, speak of the devil, Annie said as a burly, bearded man about Annies age entered the office. Dressed in a tweed sport coat with a matching hat to cover his bald spot, Dr. Adrian Dupr somehow seemed out of place in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Washington, D.C. He was only a couple of inches shorter than Merlins six feet, but was a full seventy pounds heavier at two hundred-fifty pounds.
Whats up, my boy? Adrian asked, still retaining a bit of his French/British accent even after all his years in America. Hed always sounded a bit peculiar as a result of his parents union.
Yall come here. Ive found our next project. Merlin handed some of the photographs to each of his co-workers. These are some satellite photos taken with a special, high-powered lens. Look. Look right here. Merlin pointed at what appeared to be clusters of buildings hidden under thick covering. The buildings seemed to be camouflaged rather than overgrown.
A big smile appeared on Annies face after shed looked at several of the photos. Well, Merlin, it seems like you might have found us a way out of DC.
Merlins face lit up. Yeah! Were all approved to go. Lets pack, he said, knowing full well it couldnt happen that fast, even if he wanted it to.
