In this collection, poets Lois Adams, Barbara Elovic, Patricia Markert, and Constance Norgren re-examine and retell some of the better and lesser known tales of the Book of Genesis. The reader can follow Cain and Abel down the midway of a county fair; feel the pressures her family imposes upon Eve; watch Jacob and Esau's contest for their father's blessing and Tamar's caution-to-the-winds way of becoming a mother. All compel the reader to bear witness and even relive the characters' plights as they vie for their places in these classic stories. Who knew?
