Kaylene Johnson is a longtime Alaskan and author of Portrait of the Alaska Railroad. Her work has appeared in Alaskan Wilderness, Alaska magazine, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Her essay "Moose Hollow" was selected as a notable essay in Best American Essays 2002.
