Margaret Whyte Kelly, a native of Lancaster, NH, was raised in Laconia, NH. She has a Bachelor's degree in the History of American Culture from the University of New Hampshire, and s dual Masters degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from Simmons College in Boston. She is a former newspaper reporter and feature writer, and wrote a history column on the town of Warner, NH, for several years. For twelve years she worked as a researcher, interpreter, role-player and public speaker at Strawbery Banke Museum, in Portsmouth, NH. Ms. Kelly has participated in a New Hampshire-based oral history project, and has taught as an adjunct teacher at a local community college. Currently she runs her own tour guide company in the Maine and New Hampshire Seacoast region. Ms. Kelly splits her time between Wells, ME, and the Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire. This is her first published book. She is currently working on a book with a focus on New Hampshire during the 1940s.
