What started as a project for a writing competition rapidly turned into a daily poetic reflection as Kenneth took early morning strolls with his dog on hiking paths in Southern Arizona.
He focused his energies on observing and appreciating the beauty nature offers - from the leaf that floats on the stream to the infinite expanse of the universe.
Catching Mist in the Wind captures these moments of thought, observation, and appreciation of nature. The poems, written in the traditional form of haiku, are his internal stability - a balance between the constant ebb and flow of peace and chaos in the world.

Kenneth Pearson began his literary journey when handed a copy of The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. Since then, his "wonder while wandering" has not ceased. Throughout his journeys, he continues to learn and grow by immersing himself into the local culture and capturing his experiences in written form. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is the author of four books of poetry - The Old Leather Room (2004), Water Falls in Autumn: Verse vs. Adversity (2007), Scattered (2021), and Catching Mist in the Wind (2022). His work has appeared in the Remington Review, The Night Heron Barks, Kind of a Hurricane Press, New Priory Press, among others. His writing has been influenced by many authors, but none more than Albert Camus, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Franz Kafka, and Edgar Allan Poe. He currently resides in Vail, Arizona with his wife, Cory Lynn, and their three pets.
