Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Olin Jackson is a native of northwest Georgia and developed an early interest in the history of his state. He is a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. He also earned a graduate degree in political science education from North Georgia College & State University. Mr. Jackson is a Vietnam-era veteran of the United States Army. In 1985, he founded Legacy Communications, Inc., a publishing company in Roswell, Georgia. His initial endeavor involved a newsletter entitled Southern Trails, a project which ultimately evolved into a travel and history magazine - Georgia Backroads - the premier travel & history magazine in Georgia today. Mr. Jackson also authored or co-authored numerous books, including the hard-bound North Georgia Journal of History series, Volumes I, II, III and IV; Moonshine, Murder, & Mayhem In Georgia; Tales Of The Rails In Georgia; Georgia Backroads Traveler; Old Mills In The Georgia Hills, and others. AS publisher of North Georgia Journal magazine (predecessor of Georgia Backroads magazine), Mr. Jackson guided that quarterly magazine to numerous literary awards issued by the Magazine Association of Georgia. Today, Georgia Backroads magazine is circulated regionally, and has dedicated readers throughout the United States. In 2005, Mr. Jackson sold Legacy Communications to pursue other projects. He is married to the former Judy Grizzle of Dahlonega, Georgia.
