The purpose of DISCovering the Styles is to help people develop a better understanding of the behavioral differences of individuals. In today’s world we are constantly challenged to work more effectively and efficiently with others in our work environment. Added to this challenge is the fact that each of us performs differently in the work environment. We bring our behavior, skills and abilities of varying degrees to the workplace. Organizations, managers, supervisors and employees must recognize that each person is different and that it is essential to maximize the behavioral strengths of each person for optimum performance on the job. Alternatively, when you consider the important relationships in your life, whether they are co-workers, friends or family, each of these relationships is based on trust. If we are to have relationships based on trust we must make an effort to develop an understanding of our personal behavior and the behavior of those around us. Even today, there are people who think the best way to work with or relate to someone is to change the behavior of the other person. Discovering the Styles is written in an easy read format. At a recent certification workshop one of the participants who received a pre-press copy of the book said, “It was easy and fun to read. I have read other books on behavior, but I was impressed with the usable information in DISCovering the Styles.” DISCovering the Styles includes behavioral information about each of the styles as they relate to the business environment.
