These kids are on a mission! After hearing a suspicious noise in the woods, 11 year old Trevor Malone recruits his two best friends, Pete and Merrick, into launching and epic investigation aimed at solving the brewing mystery that has quietly taken over their small home town. Their after-school adventures lead them to an abandoned railroad system where they encounter pint–sized UFOs, an invisible bullet train, and a way too serious security force which guards the small cheese factory on the edge of town. Discovering what the cheese factory is secretly being used for will not be easy. They must continually dodge a super annoying school bully; suffer a most unjust sentence of after-school detention and find out if this mystery is anyway connected to the arrival of West Granton’s newest student Ashley Roberts. This last challenge will involve one of the most dangerous assignments any eleven–year–old boy could undertake...talking to girls! Filled with humor, sci-fi action, and mystery, this book is on a mission!
Joseph Daly lives with his wife and two daughters in a small town in northern New Jersey which is strangely similar to West Granton, the fictitious setting of his first novel. The company for whom Joe was working as a computer programmer announced to its employees that all of their jobs would be ending due to a corporate merger. Joe Daly spent the few short months remaining before his scheduled departure, locked in his small, windowless office where he sat at his desk and created Strange Town: Volume One. When he and the rest of his colleagues were finally “terminated,” Joe used his severance payment to fund his own publishing company named Wolf’s Corner Publishing. Before entering the corporate world, Joe graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied filmmaking and, more specifically, screenwriting. In addition to his first novel “The Woods Behind Trevor Malone’s House,” Joe has written two feature–length comedic screenplays. Joe hopes to bring Strange Town, Volume Two to readers soon, as he envisions the Strange Town series to include up to seven books in total
