Reseña del editor:
"Laughing through Life" is a collection of humorous essays and anecdotes, (including the author's coverage of the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns), that critics have compared to "Erma-Bombeck-Meets-David-Sedaris."
Biografía del autor:
Connie (Corcoran) Wilson, M.S., is the author of a dozen books that range from a collection of noir short stories, to an illustrated children's book for her 2-year-old twin granddaughters, to a scholarly book on teaching. She's been writing for 55 years and has 2 children, born 19 years apart (unrelated life events, but equally noteworthy). She taught at all 6 colleges in the IA/IL Quad Cities and was the film and book critic for the Quad City Times for over a decade. More recently, she covered the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns for a variety of blogs. She was named Content Producer of the Year in 2008 by a 400,000 member blog (Associated Content), now writes for Yahoo, and was the Midwest Writing Center David R. Collins Writer of the Year (3/20/2010). She has taught composition at both junior high and college levels and founded Sylvan Learning Center #3301 and the Prometric Testing Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. Her schools include the University of Iowa, Berkeley, WIU, NIU, and the University of Chicago. Connie's unique (and frequently slyly humorous) take on her journey through life is reflected in "Laughing through Life," a book of anecdotes and essays described as "Erma-Bombeck-Meets-David-Sedaris." See also "It Came from the '70s," (www.ItCamefromtheSeventies.com), "Hellfire & Damnation" (www.HellfireandDamnationtheBook.com), and "Ghostly Tales of Route 66" (www.GhostlyTalesofRoute66.com) to fully comprehend just how far-reaching (some would say random) Connie's interests are and how little she likes to be trapped writing in just one genre. (A screenplay for her first novel "Out of Time" was a "Writer's Digest" screenplay winner in 2007 and "Amazing Andy, the Wonder Chicken" won a Whim's Place Flash Fiction competition.) If you don't laugh at least some of the time at the selections in "Laughing through Life," you should check your pulse to see if you are still conscious.
