Saswati Das has always been well-known among her friends as a people’s poetess who can write beautiful poetry on serious topics with simple language and adorn it with romanticized recitation. Her poems have been published in the magazines of St. Stephen’s High School, Cotton College, Assam Engineering College, and Bengali Association of Chicago and in the regional newspapers viz. The Assam Tribune, The Sentinel and Purbanchal Prohori. She has been the winner of poetry writing, recitation, and cultural performance competitions in Assam Engineering College, All Guwahati Bengali Poetry Association, Saradiyo Dispur Durga Puja Committee in Guwahati and has recited her poetry in the annual cultural events of State University of New York at Buffalo, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. and Rabindra Sammelan in Guwahati and Bengali Association of Chicago.
