Our creation purpose is to join the eternal Fellowship of the Trinity. The deepest desire of our hearts is to subserviently and sacrificially love all who inhabit that Fellowship. In this desire, we have been made in the image of God. To love God, we must know Him. To achieve our creation purpose and sate the deepest desire of our hearts, therefore, we must somehow obtain a knowledge of God that will allow the depth and quality of love that optimizes participation in the Fellowship of the Uncreated. Thus, God had to do the impossible: He had to somehow teach the created about the Uncreated. It was in addressing this dilemma that evil was introduced into the creation. Evil alone could supply the opposing contrast by which the detail and depth of God’s infinitely pure attributes could be illuminated to a degree that would allow fellowship in the eternal kingdom of God.
