Inhaltsangabe

A weathered map with odd symbols and a huge dog lead Geo and his friend Paul on a search through the Hamptons-- but for what? Three hundred years ago Captain Kidd sailed near here. Could these be clues to Captain Kidd’s final treasure that countless people have looked for? Seems unlikely, but the map is clearly a riddle pointing at something. They have to find out without getting others too interested in the search and having them discover the treasure first, but it may be too late. A mysterious lady shows up along their path in Southampton as they continue to put together clues. Is she on the same trail? Who is she? And how does a 19th century painting by William Merritt Chase help them? With each step, they find clues pointing in one direction—toward Windmolen, the windmill on Peconic Bay.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Simon Finn-- Eastern Long Island and the tales of CaptainKidd’s treasure first captured Simon Finn’s imagination when he spent summers in the Shinnecock Hills area as a child. Simon never found any treasure, so he says, but he probably wouldn’t tell us if he had. He now lives in Virginia but enjoys returning to Long Island to visit family members and to kayak around the bays and ponds of the East End. Simon claims to have graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Cambridge, but not many people have actually asked for evidence of this. He currently poses as an international affairs and media analyst when not writing fiction or messing around in boats. Windmolen: The Secret of the Windmill by the Bay is the first of a series of books involving Geo, Lucy, and Paul.
