Inhaltsangabe

Grand prize winner of the 2014 Florida Book Festival Award (and category winner for Young Adult Fiction), 2015 Florida Authors & Publishers Award silver, 2014 Mom's Choice Award gold for Young Adults, Best Y.A. Fiction at the New England Book Festival, runner-up for Best Young Adult Fiction at the Halloween Book Festival Awards.
Five of the psychic teens are going to Florida over spring break. They can stay with fellow FreeK Caroline and their mentors Bando, Rose, and Twait. But somebody wants them to stay home and will use fire, rattlesnakes, and more to keep them away. As they prepare to leave New England, Charlie has one of his dreams—a murder and kidnapping—only it’s happening in real time in the Sunshine State. The dead man is a midget who worked with Twait, Bando, and Rose in their sideshow days. And that’s just the first murder. The rail will take the FreeKs from Cassadaga (psychic medium capital of the world) to Gibsonton (Freaktown USA, America’s Weirdest Town)—with side trips to The Villages (Florida’s Friendliest Hometown, unless somebody’s out to kill you) and Ocala (Horse Capital of the World)—and finally to the capital, Tallahassee. What the teens will remember about FreeK Week won’t be their visit to Daytona Beach or the airboat ride in the gator swamps—it’ll be sharing their gifts, working together, and fighting to survive. Also available as Kindle ebook and Audible audio book read by Michael Piotrasch.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

STEVE BURT first appeared on readers’ radar in 2004 when he won the coveted Bram Stoker Award, horror’s top prize, for a collection of weird tales called Oddest Yet. When FreeK Camp and FreeK Show came out, two novels about psychic and paranormal teens, his following grew. Critics loved them. The series grabbed 23 international awards including Grand Prize Winner at the Florida Book Festival, 4 Mom's Choice golds, the Moonbeam Children's Book Award silver, and the London, Paris, NY, San Francisco, and Halloween Book Festival Awards for Best Teen or Y.A. Fiction. Readers had a ball looking over the FreeKs’ shoulders as they solved mysteries while struggling with their “differentness.” The suspense, the breakneck pace, and the chance to visit the country’s strangest places delighted fans. The buzz is out that FreeK Week, Grand Prize Winner of the Florida Book Festival Awards, Best YA at the New England Book Festival Awards, runner-up YA at the Halloween Book Festival, and winner of the 2014 Mom's Choice Award gold medal for young adult fiction, is the best one yet. Steve writes full-time in The Villages, Florida, with his editor/wife Jolyn.
