This collection of art and poetry from medical students at The University of Auckland in Aotearoa, New Zealand celebrates their experiences of learning about medicine in practice. Dr Tanisha Jowsey, PhD, is a medical anthropologist, lecturer in medical education, artist, poet and writer at The University of Auckland. Tanisha has exhibited her works in art galleries in Australia and New Zealand, in four group and seven solo exhibitions (2001-2011). Some of her written works include Musings from an Academic Kiwi (Compassion Publishers 2016), Chronic illness: the temporal thief (Lambert 2016), and Turtles and Diggers (Compassion Publishers 2016). This book contains the works of 72 authors, including 64 medical students. Tanisha has had the delight of collating these works into a narrative medicine collection.
