Joyce L. Miller is The Copyright Detective™. She is a co-founder and co-owner of Integrated Writer Services, LLC, a publishing consulting service. Joyce is a consultant to independent publishers and their support teams, an author, and an educator with over twenty years experience in publishing, copyright, and copyright compliance. She has served as intellectual property manager, first for NASA’s Classroom of the Future, and later for the Center for Educational Technologies, NASA’s principal research and development center for educational technologies. She has served as associate editor for an academic/trade technology journal, The Technology Transfer Journal. Joyce has created and been instrumental in the oversight of policies encompassing best practices, processes and procedures for copyright compliance issues at the university level as well as at government research and development centers. Dr. C. Daniel Miller is a co-founder and co-owner of Integrated Writer Services, LLC, an independent publishing consulting service. He has served in roles of dean of CIPA college, vice president, and president of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA). He currently consults on the business of independent publishing. He has been a technology consultant to architects to design computer and telecommunications infrastructures. He was the founding president of the Center for Educational Technologies; the executive director of NASA's Classroom of the Future; a university professor and university department chair; an educational researcher, a K-12 classroom teacher, and a US Air Force radar technician. He most recently has embarked on a new venture as a project manager and researcher to discover relevance in large unstructured data.
