Inhaltsangabe

‘Faint-heartedness ill becomes a fighter who can still stand and wield a weapon – whatever the odds against him.’

Edward the Pious is dead and Hereward, estranged son of Eorl Leofric, returns from exile to a land at peace under a new king, Harold Godwineson. After nine years as a mercenary, Hereward expects his fighting days are over but they have only just begun. For the year is 1066 and soon he must take up his sword against a foe set on conquest.

S. Pitt brings 11th century England vividly to life in this powerful narrative of the epic struggle between Hereward the Outlaw and the Normans. A man prepared to lose everything rather than submit; an uncompromising leader haunted by his past: Fen-wolf tells how a legend began.
